A Cast Report of Surgical Treatment Cerebral Cysticercosis

Abstract
The surgical treament of C. N. S. cysticercosis is frequently encountered in Korea.
The majority is reported from Mexico, Spain, Chile, Poland and China, Japan, Korea. A few cases have been reported in Korea invading C. N. S. Cysticercosis in man is caused by the development of Tania solium larvae, called cysticercus cellulosae.
There are three possible methods by which a man may acquire cysticercosis; ingestion of fresh vegetables of food contaminated with eggs of Taenia solum, anus-to-mouth contamination and regurgitation of eggs discharged from the adult parasite.
The clinical manifestation is quite few uless they invade brain encysting in cerebrum, cerebellum and ventricles.
In man the cysticercus can develop in any place including central nervous system. When the- central
nervous system is involved by cysticercus develop various neurological symptoms such as signs of increaI sed intracranial pressure, epileptic seizures, focal symptoms and hydrocephalus, etc.
In this report we described a case of surgically removed milliary nodule cysticercus in the sylvian fissure
in a 39 year old Korean male. There was no evidence of involvement of other site.
